T-Type Optical

Optical 4 K cryostat purpose-built for trapped-ion quantum computing R&D

The T-Type combines closed-cycle 4 K cooling, metal-sealed XHV vacuum, vibration decoupling, and 360° free-beam optical access in a single system, giving ion traps a stable, long-lifetime environment with full optical control.

Key benefits

Flexible deployment

The T-Type can be deployed in a standard optical table for improved vibration levels. Alternatively, because of its compact dimensions, it is possible to integrate the system into a standard 19″ rack.

Fast trap exchange option

Besides standard access to the sample stage by opening the vacuum shroud, the system is also available with a dedicated hermetically sealed vacuum chamber. This chamber connects via a thermal interface to the cryostat and, when disconnected, can be separately worked on – including heating to high temperatures for improved vacuum conditions. Having multiple vacuum chambers further enables faster R&D cycles, as one chamber can be in operation connected to the cryostat, while another one can be worked on separately.

Integrated RF and DC wiring for trap operation

In addition to the optical access, complex RF and DC wiring layouts can be integrated. The system further offers space for cryoelectronics.
