20 mK milestone reached as SPROUT project concludes
Delft Circuits and kiutra are pushing the boundaries of quantum tech with exciting new developments in enabling technologies – a success story contributing to the European quantum ecosystem.
Since its inception, kiutra has focused on building easy-to-use, scalable and sustainable cryogenics for science and quantum tech. Achieving specific temperature milestones for both ADR and cADR cooling is part of this mission. We are proud to announce that we have reached a major target: 20 mK was measured at the kiutra lab testbed!
This key achievement was part of the SPROUT project, in collaboration with our partners at Delft Circuits. Launched in 2021, this initiative aimed to build a cryogenic platform that reaches 50 mK, without using expensive and limited helium-3, includes lots of wiring, and still has enough cooling power to operate quantum devices, more specifically quantum computing chips based on SC qubits.
Delft Circuits was an ideal and essential partner in this, with their innovative high-performance cabling offering a space-saving design and low heat-load. The cryostat was integrated in a compact, 19″ rack sized format, to demonstrate how the technology could be easily brought to a data center environment.
