Explainer: Do quantum computers need to be cold?

Why qubits need extreme cold — thermal noise, coherence and isolation — and which of the five qubit modalities need it least.

kiutra announces the X-Type: the modular cooling architecture for scalable quantum systems

Announced at the APS Global Physics Summit: cooling power and payload capacity scale as separate modules, so needing more of either no longer means replacing …

Puck 80 and LINQER24 integration for faster device characterization

With SCALINQ, the L-Type Rapid takes samples up to 80 mm and the LINQER24 packaging — cooldown from room temperature to 50 mK stays under four hours.

Explainer: What is magnetic refrigeration?

How a magnetic field moves entropy between a crystal lattice and a spin system — and why that is enough to reach well below −272 °C without helium-3.

Key takeaways from HAUS’ interview with our Managing Director

The TU Munich experiments that led to kiutra in 2018, why helium-3 supply cannot scale with the industry, what magnetic cooling avoids, and what that means for …

Cryogenics as a Service: fast, accessible measurements for quantum development

Send a sample instead of buying a cryostat: resistance, IV characteristics, resonator tests and thermometer calibration, with the raw data and the plots …

kiutra secures €13M to strengthen quantum supply chains with helium-3-free cooling

€13 M co-led by NovaCapital and 55 North, with High-Tech Gründerfonds and existing backers — the total is now above €30 million in private and public funding.

Inside kiutra.io – cooldown and warmup your cryostat with just a few clicks

Cooldown and warm-up run as one pre-configured sequence — no manual connections, no gas purging by hand.

6 May 2025
Inside kiutra.io – magnet control made easy

Give the sample magnet a field and a ramp rate; the system runs the ramp.

Inside kiutra.io – monitor measurements with real-time plots

Live plots that update while the experiment runs: zoom, change the view, read a value out, without writing a line of code for it.

Inside kiutra.io – touch control right at the cryostat

A tablet mounted on the cryostat itself — load a sample, set a temperature, watch the values, without walking back to a PC.
